This test measures the speed between your browser and the selected LiMP server and is a reference point. Actual speed through the VPN tunnel may differ and depends on your ISP, device and network load.

How the speed test works

The test measures four connection metrics in sequence. First it estimates ping (latency) — the time it takes a signal to reach the server and return. Then it measures jitter — the variation in latency between packets. Finally, several parallel streams saturate the channel to measure download and upload speed in megabits per second.

What the results mean

Download speed matters for streaming video and downloading files; upload speed matters for video calls, uploading files to the cloud and online gaming. Low ping and jitter keep games responsive and video calls stable.

  • Ping under 50 ms — comfortable for gaming and video calls.
  • Jitter under 30 ms — stable, stutter-free connection.
  • Download from 25 Mbps — smooth 4K video.

Why VPN speed can differ

This test measures the channel to the LiMP web server and serves as a reference. Actual speed through the VPN tunnel depends on the distance to the chosen server, the encryption protocol, network load and your ISP quality. LiMP VPN uses wide channels and automatic best-route selection to keep speed loss minimal.
